St Philips worship is online
If you would like to be confirmed in 2026, or have any questions, please contact Pippa or the Parish Office.
The Rite of Confirmation is an important moment in the Christian journey when young people (or adults) decide to affirm for themselves the promises made for them at their Baptism. If your child would like to take this important step, we would be delighted to enable them to do so.
Children and youth in school year 5 and up wishing to take this important step are invited to join this years’ confirmation group which starts on Monday 23 February at 4pm.
I would be delighted to answer any questions you or your child may have. If your child is not yet baptized, they are still welcome to join the preparation course, and we will arrange for their baptism as well.
For those joining the St Philip's Confirmation preparation, all Candidates will be Commissioned on Sunday 22 February, the First Sunday of Lent, at our 10:30am Choral Eucharist at St Philip's Church. Candidates will be expected to attend eight classes on Monday afternoons from 4-4.45pm. The classes will be held at St Philip's Church and St Mary Abbots Church and led by clergy from both churches.
Key dates:
First Class: Monday 23 February
Commissioning of Candidates: Sunday 22 February at St Philip’s Church
Confirmation classes: 8 weeks from 23 February to 18 May (excluding 30 March; 6 & 13 April; 4 & 11 May)
Confirmation rehearsal: Wednesday 3 June at St Mary Abbots Church
Confirmation service: Thursday 4 June at St Mary Abbots Church
We are delighted that the Bishop of Kensington, the Rt. Revd. Emma Ineson, will preside at the service.
If you would like to be confirmed alongside your child, please speak to me about attending the adult preparation course. If you/your child attends a different church, we ask you first to discuss the matter with your own priest/minister.

Baptism marks the beginning of a journey with God which continues for the rest of our lives. Over the last few months, our candidates have been exploring the meaning of baptism in Jesus Christ. They have looked together at the call to discipleship in the world and in the Church. They have sought to understand the responsibilities of discipleship in today’s world. We celebrate with them their confirmation and will seek to learn with them in the Way of Christ.
Our Confirmation Classes began in March, and the Confirmation service was at St Mary Abbots Church on June 5.
If you would like to be confirmed in 2026, or have any questions, please contact Pippa or the Parish Office.
