Biography:


Following success with awards at several major national and international competitions, including 3rd Prize in the Manchester International Concerto Competition 2009, South Korean born British pianist Yoon Seok (John) Shin is much in demand. With over 50 performances per year at venues across Europe, Asia and the UK, Mr. Shin has developed a busy international career as a solo recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. Praised by many acclaimed critics with his poised, polished and innovative performances, Mr. Shin is currently a Young Steinway Artist and an official artist of T&B Entertainment (South Korea).


Mr. Shin graduated from the Royal College of Music, London, after completing the prestigious Artist Diploma Performance Doctorate and the Master of Music in Advanced Performance under the tutelage of Prof. Andrew Ball. Previously, he gained his Bachelor of Music in Performance at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where he studied with Prof. Philip Fowke and was awarded 1st Class Honours as well as being the recipient of the City Livery Club Prize.


Alongside his performing career, Mr. Shin has been in much demand as a highly reputed teacher, and regularly gives workshops and masterclasses. Many of his students have excelled in exams and competitions. He is also an official Ballet Repetiteur (in collaboration with Royal Academy of Dance) at Thomas’s London Day Preparatory Schools.
