Tom Wilson is a Scottish Violinist who graduated from the Royal College of Music in 2024. He studied there with Gabrielle Lester and has given numerous chamber recitals at venues such as the RCM museum, recital hall, and performance hall, St Mary Abbott’s Church Kensington, among others.
Born in Edinburgh 2002, Tom grew up with a musical family. He started learning the violin at the age of three and continued his studies with Claire Docherty. Pursuing his love of music, he won two medals at the Edinburgh Competition Festival (2012, 2015) and took part in annual Bach recitals at the Fringe with his father, George, who played the organ, and brother, Adam, who plays the cello. He has also played with several youth orchestras including the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland, l’Orchestre Francais des Jeunes, the Edinburgh Youth Orchestra in 2019 which he has been playing with since.
Tom now enjoys a variety of musical pursuits including quartet playing, session recordings, viol consort, and student-led projects with orchestras such as the University of London Symphony Orchestra, the Sirius Orchestra, and Sinfonia @ the Viaduct. He frequently performs contemporary music with musicians from the London International Christian Church, where he also plays guitar with the band every Sunday.
