Biography:


Sharon Zhou is a violinist and conductor, studying her undergraduate degree at the Royal College of Music with Detlef Hahn and Toby Purser. She has given many concerts as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in the UK, Europe and China. Sharon made her concerto debut at age 14 performing Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto and is regularly invited as a guest soloist by a range of orchestras. At the 34th Eastbourne Young Soloist Competition, she was awarded both the St Cecilia’s Bequest for the best performer under 18 and the Colonel Howes Prize. Last year, she received the Silver Award in the Vienna International Music Competition, where she made her debut at the Musikverein. Sharon is a recipient of the 2023 RPS Julius Isserlis Scholarship, which supported her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where she studied with Ernst Kovacic as part of an exchange programme.

Grace Dong

Biography:


Grace Dong studied at the Shanghai Conservatoire of Music. She was awarded a scholarship to the Royal College of Music, where she is currently in her third year studying with John Byrne. Her career so far has taken her to Italy, Poland, Japan and Austria. In 2017, Grace performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Naples Symphony Orchestra, and in 2018 she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2023, she performed Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Lydian Orchestra in Sevenoaks. Last year she won the Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year Competition and was awarded Third Place in the Chappell Medal Piano Competition at the RCM.
